Product Overview
Lauryl Dimethicone (Emollient Grade) is an alkyl-modified silicone oil. By substituting some methyl groups on the silicone backbone with alkyl chains of varying lengths and controlling the degree of polymerization, a series of alkyl silicone oils with different viscosities and skin feels are obtained. Compared to conventional Dimethicone, alkyl silicone oils offer low moisture sensitivity, low surface tension, and high spreadability. Their compatibility with common cosmetic ingredients such as mineral oil and vegetable oil is significantly improved, providing higher gloss and better skin affinity and moisturization. They are easier to emulsify and can form a waterproof, breathable film on the skin surface to lock in moisture, helping to keep the skin hydrated, soft, and non-greasy. They can replace medium- and low-viscosity Dimethicone and cyclic silicones in formulations, enhancing product texture and delivering a more diverse sensory experience.
