Russia's EVAGUARD 500 Announcement: Qualify the Blend, Not Just Its INCI Names

EVA announces a liquid preservative blend. Separate INCI identity, composition and constituent contributions before approving a formula change.

EVA has announced a ready liquid preservative blend for cosmetic formulations in Russia. The useful sourcing question is what the supplied mixture contributes to a finished formula. Recognising its ingredient names is not enough to approve a substitution.

The new sourcing option is a mixture

The manufacturer's news list dates the announcement to 5 October 2026. The EVAGUARD 500 detail page identifies a ready liquid mixture with the INCI components Diazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Propylene Glycol and Propylparaben. The detail page has no visible publication date of its own; an 8 October trade report also attributes the product announcement to EVA.

That establishes an announced Russian sourcing option. It does not establish a MOS offer, distribution relationship, matching composition or availability for a particular order. The supplier's efficacy and formulation recommendations remain supplier statements; no underlying full study was independently verified for this article.

Ask what each component contributes to the finished formula

The purchased unit is a blend, while several formulation and regulatory questions concern individual constituents. A percentage added as supplied cannot be read as the same percentage of each preservative in the finished product.

Before comparing the offer with an incumbent system, ask for:

  • The identified grade and an appropriate quantitative composition statement, with confidential assessor access where needed.
  • The basis used to express the addition: supplied mixture, a particular constituent, or another defined quantity.
  • Other formula inputs contributing the same constituents, so their contributions are not overlooked.
  • The current handling and incorporation guidance for the actual supplied material.

If the required composition information is unavailable, retain it as an unresolved input. Do not treat an undisclosed fraction as zero or reconstruct proportions from the order of the INCI names. Likewise, two offers listing the same names do not demonstrate equal proportions, physical form or incorporation behaviour.

A local announcement does not approve a formula change

This review adopts no universal use level, pH window or claim that the blend is permitted in every product category. The responsible formulation and regulatory assessment must address the actual constituents, finished product, intended use and applicable market requirements. Supplier marketing is not a substitute for that assessment.

The practical distinction from a single-ingredient purchase is that substitution may change several constituent contributions together. Document that change before interpreting any trial result. A successful supplier test on another formula cannot, by itself, explain the preservation of the buyer's own formula and package.

The existing MOS challenge-test preparation guide addresses the separate formula-level evidence task. Use the Preservation Systems category for an identified ingredient enquiry, stating whether a single material or a premix is required. MOS does not claim to supply EVAGUARD 500 or an approved equivalent through this news article.
